Outsourcing of logistics functions

Delegating cargo transportation tasks to a third-party company is profitable if there is no financial justification for recruiting and training full-time personnel, purchasing and servicing special equipment, or developing logistics schemes.
Back in the 1990s, Russia mostly used separate logistics outsourcing processes:
cargo transportation;
warehouse services;
customs services.
Later, large logistics providers began to appear, offering a full range of related services.

4PL – when an outsourcing company takes on the tasks of managing the entire logistics chain, including planning and control, using traditional management tools.
