Outsourcing of logistics functions

Post by sumaiyakhatun26 »

Delegating cargo transportation tasks to a third-party company is profitable if there is no financial justification for recruiting and training full-time personnel, purchasing and servicing special equipment, or developing logistics schemes.

Back in the 1990s, Russia mostly used separate logistics outsourcing processes:

cargo transportation;
warehouse services;
customs services.
Later, large logistics providers began to appear, offering a full range of related services.

Operators who take on the logistical functions of other organizations have at kuwait email list their disposal:

full-fledged warehouse complexes;
transport and forwarding parks;
brokerage departments for customs clearance of goods;
delivery units.
There are 5 categories of contractor involvement in the customer's logistics processes:

1PL is when the customer does not resort to outsourcing at all, and all logistics processes are carried out by their own structures.
2PL – outsourcing of warehouse logistics and freight transportation.
3PL – here, in addition to standard operations, services are added for processing, transportation, storage of goods at the outsourcer’s premises and other services characterized by high added value.
4PL – when an outsourcing company takes on the tasks of managing the entire logistics chain, including planning and control, using traditional management tools.
