How to Search the Internet: Tips for Your Google Searches

Post by shukla7789 »

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the Internet is the greatest source of information ever known to mankind. There is nothing, or almost nothing, that cannot be found through Google , but of course, you have to know how to search. When we don't find something on Google we think it doesn't exist, however, what is really happening is that we are not searching properly. To help you improve your Internet searches, I bring you some tips on how to search on the Internet , specifically for your Google searches .

How to search on the Internet
The term keyword can be misleading, because when we talk about keywords in search engines we are referring to words, expressions or phrases. For example, SEO is a keyword and SEO positioning Madrid is also a keyword. When we search for a keyword with several terms, Google offers us pages in which these terms do not necessarily appear together. For example, if we search for SEO positioning Madrid, the result may be a page in which Madrid appears in one place of the text, SEO in another and positioning in another. If we want the search to only show us pages in which the expression appears as we have written it, we will have to put the keyword in quotation marks, like this “SEO positioning Madrid”.

If you want to exclude from your search all results that include a certain term, you just have to add that term to the search with a hyphen in front. For example, if I want to search for information about juices other than orange, I would search for juice –orange, which omits all results that include the term orange.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Google does not truemoney database into account superfluous terms that we put in the search, such as the, the, the... It also does not differentiate between upper and lower case.

Now let's look at some specific search operators that may be useful. These operators allow you to search within domains, instead of searching all the websites on the Internet. You just have to put the operator followed by two points and the domain URL (all together) and then, separated by a space, the keyword you want to search for:

Site. Search through all the pages on a website. Example: site:www.wikipedia.org keyword
Link. Search for external pages that link to a website. Example: link:www.wikipedia.org keyword (search for pages with links to Wikipedia)
Cache. Searches the cache of a website. Example: cache:www.wikipedia.org keyword
Then there are operators to search for information on websites.

Info. Information about a website. Example: info:www.wikipedia.org
Related. Pages similar to a website. Example: related:www.wikipedia.org
And finally, operators to search for keywords in different places on a website.

Title. Search only for pages that contain the keyword in their title. Example: title: seo positioning

url. Search only for pages that contain the keyword in their url. Example url: seo positioning

Domain. Search only for pages that contain the keyword in their domain name. Example domain:seo positioning

Now all that's left to do is try them out to fine-tune your Google searches.
