Technology in education: take advantage of Google Workspace!

Post by shukla7789 »

Using technology in education is no longer a taboo and has become part of the routine of practically all educational institutions, in Brazil and around the world.

In fact, a recent study by McKinsey & Company showed that technology can improve students’ academic performance by up to 20% . The research analyzed data from more than 100 studies to reach this conclusion.

In view of such evidence, there is a wide range of opportunities when applying technology to education, even elevating the concept of the institution.

In this article, we will show you the main technologies employment database on the market, the challenges in implementing them and the advantages they bring. Enjoy your reading!

What is technology in education?
Technology in education is the use of tools to facilitate and enhance learning, involving the use of computers, tablets, educational software, applications, online teaching platforms, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The idea is to make learning more didactic and, at the same time, more engaging for students.

Until recently, many educational institutions were reluctant to adopt technology in education, believing that it could hinder development and learning in studies.

However, the COVID-19 health emergency has changed this concept. A survey by the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) showed that the use of technology in the classroom increased by 40% during the pandemic .

In line with this data, another study by the Lemann Foundation found that 83% of teachers are using technology to teach students remotely.

In view of this meteoric growth, there is no longer any way to escape the use of technology in schools and universities, however, many challenges still need to be faced.

What are the challenges of technology in education?
One of the biggest challenges facing technology in education is the issue of equitable access. That’s because not all students have access to high-speed internet or the devices they need to fully participate in online learning or use the latest digital tools.

This can create a “digital divide,” where some students have access to resources and learning opportunities that others do not. This gap can amplify existing inequalities in education and society as a whole.

Furthermore, effective implementation requires significant investment, both in terms of purchasing hardware and software, and in training teachers and students to use these tools effectively.
