Although there are a number of changes in the new E-mail Code, most will already adhere to these rules. The changes are mainly aimed at transparency and clarity for recipients. For example, when providing their e-mail address, recipients must be better informed about what they are signing up for, for example by indicating the frequency and areas of commercial offers. In addition, when receiving the e-mail, the recipient must be able to see who has collected their e-mail address and must be able to unsubscribe easily. More about the E-mail Code can be found on the DDMA website , they will also soon be organizing a number of substantive sessions about the code.
The parallel sessions that followed were interesting and sometimes innovative, such as the emotion tracking with EEG from Yourzine. They were no longer as innovative as a few years ago. They are often developments or other ways of elaborating on existing functionalities and ways of thinking, a trend that seems to have continued strongly in recent years. Is there an end to real developments in the field of e-mail, are we seeing the first signs of
Benchmark for the travel industry
After all the parallel sessions it was time to return to the 'big' hong kong phone number list room for a preview of the first results of the e-mail benchmark research by Pieter Stroop and Jordie van Rijn of DMInterface and eMailMonday, an extensive research among more than 60 Dutch organizations from the travel industry. A well-conducted research, but unfortunately (still) without cooperation from the travel organizations themselves. The results are therefore based on subjective assessment by the researchers and not on the actual campaign results. In any case, there was sufficient interest in the room to make this benchmark more objective, both E-Village (with the first Dutch e-mail marketing benchmark figures), and an initiative of all E-mail Service Providers affiliated with DDMA indicated that they would like to cooperate with the benchmark. The continuation of this benchmark research will therefore only become more relevant, so keep an eye on it .
