One day, at a small neighborhood party, I found myself sitting next to a teenager. And within minutes, I realized that journalism was going wrong. “ So, how’s school? ” I asked, trying to start a conversation. “ They gave us homework. It’s so boring ,” she replied. “ We have to watch the news and read a newspaper from cover to cover every day for an ENTIRE week. It’s so depressing. Why are you journalists so negative? ” she asked me from behind her bangs and clumsy third-grade mascara .
