Cumulative revenue from January to December 2024 was approximately NT2,894.38 billion, an increase of 33.9% over the same period last year , the highest annual sales since its listing in 1994.
TSMC's fourth-quarter revenue was calculated to be NT868.5 billion US26.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 38.8%.
TSMC's growth has been driven primarily by strong demand for artificial intelligence chips, especially from Nvidia, and continued improvements in semiconductors for smartphones.
"TSMC has benefited greatly from strong demand kazakhstan telegram data for artificial intelligence," said Brady Wang, associate director at Counterpoint Research.
He said that TSMC's "capacity utilization" for its 3-nanometer and 5-nanometer processes the most advanced chips has been "over 100%." AI graphics processing units GPUs, such as those designed by Nvidia, and other AI chips are driving this demand.
TSMC’s latest sales figures may also give investors hope that demand for AI chips and services could continue into 2025.
While TSMC's revenue beat expectations, it was only 1.6% higher than the average forecast and below the optimistic expectations of most analysts.
More pessimistic market observers point to potential overbuilding, development bottlenecks such as power shortages, and a continued lack of killer AI apps or services that will eat up all the server capacity.
