How to move user folder to another drive Downloads, Documents, Pictures, etc

Post by Rina7RS »

To interact with these user folders, you don't need to go to "C:\Users\Username" . All you need to do is use their shortcuts.

Changing the location of any of your user folders can be done in just a few clicks. And while File Explorer looks different in Windows 11 and Windows 10, the process is the same in both operating systems. Before moving a user folder, such as Downloads , to a new location, open File Explorer , navigate to the drive where you want to store it, create a folder, and rename it using the name of the user folder you want to move Downloads , Documents , Pictures , etc..

If you're using Windows 10, right-click or press and hold the quick iceland mobile database access shortcut for the user folder you want to move. From the menu that opens, select Properties .

Right-click the user folder you want to move and select Properties.

In Windows 11, everything works the same way. However, you can also find shortcuts to your user folders in the Home section . Right-click or press and hold the user folder whose location you want to change and select Properties .

Right-click the user folder you want to move and select Properties.

The Properties window for the selected user folder opens . In my case, it's Downloads Properties . Click or tap the Location tab to see the current path to the selected folder. Then click or tap Move .
