That wraps up my exploration of the complex topic that is Twitter data and ethics. Whilst we don’t yet have answers to all of the questions I’ve raised, it’s important that we take action for ensuring responsible use of social media data.
While giving a significantly higher pay rise to less experienced teachers makes sense from a recruitment and retention perspective – younger teachers are more likely to leave the profession – to many more experienced teachers this will not seem fair. Afterall, it could be argued that the teachers who have remained committed to the profession deserve to be rewarded, not new entrants.
