The benefits of Twitter
Many people have managed to position restaurants email list themselves as well-known “tweeters” in their respective fields (politics, news, gossip). The platform offers advantages for those who decide to anonymously express opinions and share information.

Twitter offers us the possibility of making our blogs, pieces of content and points of view public. Freedom of opinion is an essential condition. Despite these advantages, there are fake profiles.

“Fake” User Profiles
Fake users appropriate the names of famous people to create accounts. Often this happens in the form of parody. But beyond the humorous nature of the content, what are the real implications of satire?

Public figures are opinion-makers. Today, everything a minister or a sportsperson, for example, says is considered an assertion. We may or may not agree, but their words undoubtedly have a strong impact on their followers.

The flip side of fake profiles has to do with the veracity, the repercussions of what they say and their moral position. In many cases, this can negatively affect those people whom Twitter users trust and from whom they expect scoops: politicians, religious figures or cultural leaders, among others.

The truth is that we cannot condemn without arguments the fact that fame brings with it mockery or sarcasm through the use of parody. The simulation is real and Twitter makes it evident through “fake” profiles.

The case of Mexico is interesting. The current “twitter culture” in that country is full of parodies of famous people. They have become, in a way, reference points for opinion.

Although Twitter's rules allow users to use the names of famous people as long as they clarify their fictitious identity, many users may be confused.

The moral sphere is one of the aspects that cannot be overlooked. To what extent can figures working in politics or who play important roles in the cultural and social sphere be affected?

Our task is to discern, inform ourselves and learn more about the use of our online marketing tools.
