Rotation and secondment

Post by Maksudasm »

Is a type of rotation, an exchange of employees between organizations. These methods allow staff to develop skills and knowledge that they would not be able to obtain at their current place of work. For example:

skills used in everyday life, for the development of which the company cannot find a suitable specialist from its own staff;

skills required by staff due to the expansion of the organization.

Secondment differs from zalo database regular rotation in that the employee is transferred to another structure for a period of time, rather than to another department of the same organization. In this case, personnel exchange usually occurs between companies from different spheres (commercial, state enterprises, small local companies, schools, charitable associations).

This method is especially useful for organizations with a flat structure, where there is no opportunity for the full development of specialists. The exchange period may vary - from 100 hours of work time to 1 year. Any type of employee (managers, specialists, technical staff, etc.) can be "seconded".

As a rule, the organization that sent the employee to another structure transfers his salary. The money can be taken from different budgets: for training and development of personnel, for communication with government agencies (if he is "assigned" to a government agency), for charity (if he works in such an organization). In rare cases, the salary is paid by the receiving party.

In America and England this method is very popular. Moreover, in these countries there are entire queues of workers for secondment. The benefit for the employee is obvious:

opportunity for personal growth;

gaining interesting experience working on different projects;

increasing adaptability to change;

acquiring new skills and developing the ability to solve unusual problems.

The organization that such an employee joins receives not only human resources, but also funds for the implementation of its projects. The giving company also benefits:

honing the skills of your staff;

strengthening teamwork and cross-functional interaction;

development of a network of contacts;

enhancing employee morale and motivation;

improving reputation.

Thus, "secondment" is one of the modern methods of employee development. The staff receives new skills, technologies, etc. Employee development at the workplace is a very important aspect, but it is better to combine it with training outside the workplace (seminars, trainings, coaching).
