How to achieve multiple growth in traffic and sales from your website?

Post by Maksudasm »

Define tasks

Once the directions have been chosen, the next step is to formulate specific benchmarks for each of them. The result will be an action plan for the company departments responsible for implementing the plans.

For example, you assign specialists from the marketing department to analyze the work of competitors and select effective promotion methods. Economists perform tasks to find investments, production workers improve the activities of workshops and modernize them for the release of new products. Remember the specific deadlines. As a result, each department of the enterprise will work to achieve a common main goal. This situation confirms the correct approach to building a goal tree.

I have always been concerned ios database about the issue of moving to a fundamentally new level. So that the indicators would grow not by 2 or 3 times, but by several orders of magnitude. From a thousand visits to ten thousand or from ten thousand to a hundred thousand, if we are talking about a website, for example.

And I know that such leaps are always the result of painstaking work in five areas:

Technical condition of the site.
SEO.
Collection of site semantics.
Creating useful content.
Working on conversion.

Is it possible to use the SMART method to build a goal tree?
It should be noted that the SMART methodology was developed specifically for the formation of goals, but in reality it is difficult to use it in full in this process. At the initial stage, problems often arise with ensuring the measurability of tasks. This may require a large number of indicators, which are most often impossible to determine at the stage of formulating goals.

Let's return to our goal tree examples. The wording "Increase the volume of production by 10% annually" seems quite sufficient for subsequent discussion and detailing. In this case, a goal developed using the SMART methodology may look like this: "The head of the sales department needs to increase sales by 10% every year by entering the Belarusian market with new online products."

We will ensure the commonality of the wording in the tree later. This happens at the stage of detailing the goal and building a model of its environment, where the actual and planned values of the indicators, algorithms for calculating them, and data sources will be determined. Also, specialists responsible for achieving the planned goals are found, and projects are developed to ensure the achievement of the result.
