When working on an elevator pitch, it is often difficult to separate key points from trivialities and fluff. It is important not to waste time on details, but to leave only the information that is really important to a potential investor or partner.
The pitch development technique does not imply individual approaches. It is necessary to create a universal text that can be presented to different business areas.
If potential interlocutors are owners of construction companies, you don’t need to talk about your abilities in fine arts. In this case, universal skills in the field of design are necessary, which can be useful in any sphere of business.
Important: when developing an elevator pitch, you cannot touch on topics such as religion and politics. In addition, there should be no moments that touch on people's appearance, shortcomings and their age. The pitch should have a positive focus. After reading a short presentation, the listener should have a desire to calculate their benefits, and not sign up for a service.
Haste is the enemy of creating the most effective elevator pitch. Write out all the most important information first, and then gradually eliminate the unimportant facts.
It is advisable to let the resulting text of the short presentation “sit” for some time (a couple of days). After that, it should be assessed with a fresh look and edited again. Now the finished pitch should be read aloud at a medium pace. There is no need to rush or stretch out the phrases. At the same time, time it to understand whether the short presentation fits into 30 seconds. If the elevator pitch is longer, you will have to work on it.

An effective story should touch only on the most important points of interest to an investor, potential partner, employer, etc. (depending on the purpose for which it is being developed).
Introducing yourself
At the beginning of a short presentation, you need to introduce yourself. This is not a detailed autobiography. Indicate your first name, last name, position/specialty, company name, etc.
If the status of the person making the pitch is not high enough, it is better not to mention it.
It is believed that the most important part of the elevator pitch is the first few seconds of the speech . To capture the listener's attention, you should use body language and eye contact techniques.
A friendly attitude, optimism and self-confidence will help you achieve your goal. Avoid phrases like: "Sorry to disturb you", "I apologize for disturbing you" . Such phrases indicate the speaker's lack of confidence and weakness.
We recommend showing reasonable persistence: "Good afternoon, my name is Kuzhuget Kuzhugetovich, I am the project manager ...". This beginning is informative and capacious, as it combines a greeting and an introduction. You should not wait for the interlocutor to answer - you will lose valuable seconds.
Reveal the listener's problem
Immediately after introducing yourself, move on to the main part of the pitch. Here you need to reveal the problem that the listener is having (software often freezes, office supplies or transportation costs are growing, etc.).
Creating an Elevator pitch
In order not to guess, but to understand exactly what worries the interlocutor, you should study this issue the day before the meeting and adjust the part of the elevator pitch that is responsible for the client's "pain". Note that most problems are typical, so y
