Tambov Region Increases Sugar Export Volume

In January-May 2024, Tambov Oblast supplied sugar products worth $55.2 million to foreign markets, which is 2.4 times higher than the export volume in value terms for the same period last year.

Tambov enterprises supply sugar products to 18 countries. The largest volumes are purchased by the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the People's Republic of China.

Tambov Region is one of the top three regions in the Central Federal District for student database sugar production and ranks fourth in Russia. The region has a stable raw material base for the production of "white gold".

Sugar beet is one of the traditional crops grown on Tambov black soil. There are five large sugar factories operating in the region: in Uvarovsky, Znamensky, Nikiforovsky, Kirsanovsky, Zherdevsky municipal districts. Their total production capacity exceeds 31 thousand tons of processed beet per day.

The construction of the Kirsanov sugar plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons of sugar beet per day is in its final stage. The total investment volume is almost 23 billion rubles. About 800 jobs will be created. This plant will be one of the largest sugar production facilities in Europe and Asia.
