Introduced in 2019 as an initiative that involved many stakeholders over time, such as publishers, developers, ad tech vendors, and consumers, Google Privacy Sandbox was designed as a frontier project created to find an alternative solution to third-party cookies that would ensure better privacy for the entire web.
Privacy Sandbox: How Does It Work?
Google Privacy Sandbox can be considered a true modular framework that brings together a series of APIs that enable the delivery of relevant ads while allowing the acquisition of metrics and the attribution of the ads themselves while fully respecting user privacy .
Protected Audience API This enables remarketing and custom audience
segmentation use cases and is designed so that third parties cannot track users' browsing behavior ıran mobile database across multiple sites. It is based on the concept of "interest groups" that allow users to be segmented and are stored in the consumer's browser and accessible only to APIs there.
Topics API This API categorizes web pages into nearly 500 topics of interest without revealing any information about user behavior data. It allows advertisers to serve contextually relevant ads. It automatically generates a list of user interests based not on individual pages or searches, but on generic data from the hosts they connect to. These interests are then mixed with randomly generated ones to further improve privacy.
Attribution Reporting API These APIs help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns through more detailed analysis of data. They are a set of features designed to mask activity across multiple sites and apps, making it impossible for advertisers to track individual users and limiting the amount of advertiser and publisher data that can be linked for event-level reporting.
