The Future of the Accountant

The accounting landscape is changing very quickly and accountants need to take advantage of major technological opportunities such as tax digitalization and automation .

Thus, based on current knowledge of the world of accounting, I intend to help build the future by launching four starting points for discussion:

Waste less time on manual tasks
The first point I would like to make here has to do with the need to waste less time on manual tasks. I don't mean to say that some tasks will not last over time. But what is already a reality for some is a future for others. The use of automation mechanisms in routine, time-consuming and low-profit tasks can now be performed by tools available on the market, allowing accountants to divert to other more valuable tasks.

Finally, the fourth point, and I left this point for the end on purpose. Everything I wrote previously, namely having more time dedicated to non-manual tasks, focusing on advising customers and working remotely, will only be possible with training.

Accountants must expand their range of skills to meet the needs of the market, clients and even employees , and to do so, they must be constantly available to learn and try new things.

For others, it is a present point, which reflects the position of a true accountant who runs alongside his clients , respects all competitors and entities, without ever losing track of his personal life.

For accountants, the challenge is to adapt their processes based on technology, to benefit from the inevitable demand for specialist accountants who can help their client companies navigate this ever-changing world.
