2.- Virality is not given to you by your community, it is given to you by the friends of those who follow you

Every time you post something on your business page, the chance of it being seen by one of your fans is roughly 3-6%.
However, if someone in your community leaves a comment, shares, or, to a lesser extent, likes (or similar), that update will move to their timeline and their friends and family will have a high chance of seeing it.
For this reason, in the end, what has the potential to go viral is precisely the friends of the person who interacted , who share it again, leave a comment or, at the very least, a Like, to keep the wheel turning.
What do you think about the Instagram algorithm?
The algorithm of the trendiest social network is very young (June 2016) and, in fact, when it was released it caused a huge stir, since its community was used to seeing updates from the last to the first, without any filter.
It is true that Instagram had a very strong growth in users and the number of updates grew enormously, potentially overwhelming the users who already used it.
How does Instagram work ? Well, it is known that there are up to 5 algorithms cohabiting, of which I want to tell you the main points:
1.- EdgeRank
Just like Facebook, the EdgeRank algorithm is used to bring you closer to the content you interact with, that is, the content that is important to you.
This algorithm therefore prioritises content from accounts you interact with, send private messages to or meet in real life, as the system assumes that this content is above average in terms of relevance for each user.
2.- HT Search
This algorithm, which is somewhat mysterious, sorts the images in a specific order when a user performs a search, either for a specific word or for a hashtag.
3.- Stories Relevance
I'll be very brief here: it's the same algorithm as EdgeRank (which, in turn, is very similar to email list of switzerland businesses Facebook's) but, instead of for your timeline, for your stories.
Simple, right?
4.- HT Follow
This algorithm and the next one are even newer, from 2017, and it has to do with the fact that if a user follows a hashtag, the images uploaded to that hashtag on their timeline will have high priority.
5.- Places
Finally, Places is all about geolocation, prioritizing images of locations you've been to or interacted with.
As you can see, there's a lot more to the Instagram algorithm than you thought!
